The Silver Rush

Another trip out into the woods. This time down to Silver Falls State park out east of Salem. It was supposed to rain that day but, we lucked out and only got dampened by the waterfalls. I'm not sure what's up with that weird bokeh that keeps popping up in some of the shots. Sometimes it looks cool, sometimes not so much. Hopefully I can figure out what does it, and only make it happen when I want to.

Take a ride on the fly

These shots are from a little day trip from a few weeks ago out to Coyote Wall. This another one of the great spots in the Columbia River Gorge, a little over an hour from Portland, near White Salmon, WA. This hike also marks the first occasion of me getting bit by a tick. Luckily I got the little bastard off before he was able to really bury himself in my side, but I still wasn't stoked.

Flower Power

It feels like spring is in the air. The flowers around town are coming out, and when I went up to Angels Rest earlier this week, there was a lot more plant life than when I went at the beginning of the year. There are even possible thunderstorms tonight, which really reminds me of my days growing up in Wisconsin. Since I'm feeling nice, here, have some flowers.

More Photos. Nothing Clever.

For some solid proof on how odd the weather has been lately. These photos were taken two or three days after the snowy day from the last post. These were all taken on a walk up Mt. Tabor. I love that Portland has so many public parks. It really is a treat that I can be at a place like this after just a short walk from my house. I'm actually going to go walk up it right now since it's the first day I've been able to wear shorts this year. A little windy, but still nice.

Snowy Nights

The weather lately has been amazingly random. Almost 60s and sunny one day, snowing the next. One night after spending some time at the bar, I convinced myself to wander around in the snow with my tripod and try getting some long exposure stuff. I think it worked out alright for a first try. I'll have to figure out those lens flares though. Should be some long lens stuff for the next post, and hopefully some wildflower stuff coming soon as well.
