Keep Rollin Rollin Rollin

Some nice days, some rainy days, and even some snowy days lately. Luckily this erratic weather provides some interesting fodder for new shots. This roll is from some of the nicer days in February and early March. This was the same roll that had those two shots from Eagle Creek in the last post. The rest of these are from walking around my neighborhood on some of those nice winter days.

In other news, I'll soon be a contributor to a new blog. A bunch of skateboarders from around Europe, the U.S., and possibly South America, will each be representing a city, and posting art, or photos based on a theme each month. I think posts will be going up every couple of days from a different city. We're still working out the kinks, but it's a fun project, so keep an eye out for upcoming posts at: http://sillylittleartproject.tumblr.com/

Didn't see a single eagle.

Eagle Creek is one of the most popular hiking destinations in Oregon. Or so I had heard. After living out here for eight and a half years, I finally took the drive up the gorge, passed the Bonniville Dam, to see what all the fuss was about. Luckily when you go out on a Monday, and have a forecast with a high of 48, and a chance of rain, you can get the trail mostly to yourself. Fortunately we didn't really get rained on, and ended up knocking out somewhere between 13 and 14 miles that day. Film ran out early on, but I got some digi pics as well. Enjoy, then get outside and enjoy outside.

Picture in picture

Back when I was filling in at the Yes and No, we would always have movies playing. Sometimes it would be slow and I would end up pretty much just watching movies all night. Over the course of the night I usually ended up taking some photos of the screen during the movie and would come out with some interesting frames. I was hoping to get a few hundred of these odd movie stills and do a project, with them, but since I haven't really gotten around to it, here are some of the ones that have just been hanging out on my phone for a while. There are a bunch more, maybe they'll make it out at some point.

Tree on a stump

More good times from walking around in the gorge. I love the fact that there is so much great scenery only a 25 minute drive from my house. These are from a day the Dirty Wizard and I walked up to Triple Falls. We bumped into a volunteer trail maintenance crew doing some work on some blown down trees. I should have gotten of photo of them working, since it was one of the few times the sun came out that day, but we were too focused on walking. Maybe next time.

Winter Light

I love those days in the winter when it's not rainy, and the sun is out. The light is so good. It can even make the walk from my house to the mini mall up the street seem not so lame. Been hiking a lot, and it feels like spring is coming soon, so look out for more nature photos. I noticed a little bit of black showing up in the side of the shots from this roll. The last time that started to happen, was when the shutter took a crap on my last camera. Lets hope that doesn't happen again.
