Last time I posted, I said the next post would be the rest of the good shots from those old rolls of black and white. Well, I lied. I didn't feel like doing that. Instead you're getting band photos. The Warcry photo is actually from one of those old rolls. The rest are from over the years, anywhere from '04 to '07. I think. I'm bad with dates, and labeling things. A little while back I was doing some cleaning. Going through old boxes, clearing out clutter, and the such. I found some old rolls of undeveloped film. Some color, some black and white, some from before I knew anything about taking photos. But like with anything, try enough times, and something will work out. These are some of the color shots that worked out. I think these were from around 2-4 years ago. Vancouver B.C., Olympia, and Roseburg I think. The photos from the black and white rolls will be up in a few days, or whenever I have some time I feel like killin.

I got off work this morning at about 7am, after getting to work yesterday at 6:30pm. I have to be back in about two hours. I'm tired, but I thought I'd be a lot worse for wear that this point. I recently got some old rolls of film developed, and to share them with some old friends I was uploading them to my photobucket, where I noticed these old photos. I believe these are from '05 or '06, shot with some shitty little digital pocket cam. I always liked the way that they turned out, hopefully you like them too.

I spent enough time on the computer today that I figured I should have something to show for it. I went through my hard drive and found these photos that never made it on the blog. Occupy Portland

Today was the first day of the Occupy Portland movement/demonstrations. You can really tell people are pissed off when they're smiling, and throwing peace signs. I have even heard rumors of people hugging cops. I would've loved to get a photo of that. Quite a difference from the anti-war, and anti-inaugural protests of the early 00's when the police seemed more like stormtroopers, than the polite escorts they were today. Especially since I don't believe there was a permit attained for the march. So that was cool. Also recently my buddy Ripped Laces recently linked up my blog on his site. Over the river and through the woods

So out past Estacata, up in Mt. Hood National Forest, are some pretty sweet waterfalls. Dive out to this one pull off spot along the river, pack up you shit, walk across the river, find the trail that goes to the pipeline, follow the pipline up into the woods. Watch out if you have a fear of heights, those trees you have to walk across are above a 50, or 60 foot drop, and they get a little wobbly. The view is definitely worth it. Unfortunately that day we were with dogs, and one of the dogs wouldn't cross the logs, can't wait to go back and get deeper into the woods. There's more tunnels, more tails, and probably more awesome shit.

These past few weeks have been pretty productive. Good to end the dog days of summer with a little momentum. Say goodbye to the sun, grab a cup of coffee, and get back outside. In other news, a few of us drove out to the woods and, were able to ford a river without losing any of our oxen. Up into the woods we went along an old pipeline, where we found some real nice waterfalls. Pictures of that another time. These are peoples.

It's always fun when you get to play with a new toy. In this case it's a cell phone cam that takes really nice sweep shot panoramas. You can get some really neat effects by spinning the camera around when you're shooting, to get really distorted images, and what look like double exposures. I'll post some of the weird ones another time. These are just some standards. I like how it almost looks like they were taken with a fisheye. Anyways, this post was really just to kill time, so I can avoid cleaning my room a little longer. I really should get on that.

Shortly after I got that new camera to replace my broken one, I broke it. It's fixed now thanks to the lovely people at Blue Moon. About a month ago I sprained my ankle really bad, so I've been stuck inside for most of August. Going a little stir crazy I scanned a bunch of old and random stuff. So you may be seeing some non-photo stuff, like that first picture up there. Or maybe not. We'll see. I have a little project I'm working on with my cell phone cam(which i admit is kind of lame), but I need to take way more pictures before that gets posted up. Till next time..

On Monday I went to the zumies couch tour because Toy Machine was doing a demo, and I really wanted the chance to meet Ed Templeton. Unfortunately for me, he wasn't there, and I got to the demo after pretty much the whole team had stopped skating aside from J.Lay going for the switch tre. Now I've never been to a warped tour, and I generally stray away from mall related events, so this whole deal of mall pop, and skating seemed pretty weird. Anyways, this is that, and those are these. I've got a working camera again, and I'm no longer working two jobs, so hopefully that'll mean more time for posts.

Like two weeks ago the weather was really nice, and I was able to get out and get a bunch of skating in. It was rad. On one particular day I made the drive down to Donald and Newburg. Donald had just gotten a fresh paint job and was looking pretty nice. There was even a little note to the locals, who over the years I've seen tag some of the most retarded shit that bowl.

The rest of these photos are from earlier today. I hopped in the car with my friend who had to drive up to Scappoose to run some errands. I figured I'd never been there, and it was a chance for some quality time with one of my friends, so why not?

I haven't done a post in a little while so I went through and found these few that never made it up. These three photos were on the same roll of photos that I used the last time it snowed here. So that should give you a little reference to when these are from. You'll also notice the bank that made it into some color photos last year. Also if you take a look at that handy little banner at the top of the page you should see something familiar as well. Anyways I just really like these pictures because they show how gritty the spot is. It's very frequent that you'll go down there and there will be all sorts of broken glass, needles, shit, shopping carts, and what not that you have to clean up before you can skate. But once you get that shit cleaned up it's a completely bust free spot. One of my favorites in town. That's all for today. Have a happy new year.

Some days you've just got to walk. This day started with Casey, Lacey, and I walking up to Mt. Tabor. Once we got to the top, we took a short break and decided, instead of heading back, to keep moving forward. We walked for a few hours that day, and covered some good ground. Got some good food, and saw a tree that turned into a fish. Had Ice Cube been there, he would've said "it was a good day".

It's been a little while since I've done a post. That's mainly because my other camera took a shit. But now I have this fancy schmancy Nikon N80 that my brother was so kind as to give me. These pictures were all shot within probably an hour of getting the camera, on what was supposed to be our friend's last day as a free man. So now that I've got a working camera again I'll be trying to update more frequently, so keep your eyes peeled, and enjoy.

Took a little roadtrip to Roseburg the other day. Some of the most interesting times in a while. From cliff jumping, to christian songwriters, to breaking into hot tubs, to heavy metal, to metting the coolest guys ever at a bar, to seeing a plane crash, to skateboarding, and feeding wild animals, just to name a few of the things that went down in those three days. One downside to the weekend was my camera's light leak has gotten pretty bad. I need to take it in, once I finish the roll that's in there, to get it fixed. Hopefully it wont take much to get it in good working condition again. Here's some shots from that little roadtrip down south.

The photos are from two of my friend's kid's first birthday that went down last week. It was on one of those randomly not hot as balls days, so it was pretty nice. I shot a full 36 exposure roll that day, and came out with a lot of cool shots. On a side note, Portland has an indoor, 3-D, black light, pirate themed, mini golf course that my friend Katie and I went to yesterday. I highly suggest that you check it out because it was FUCKING AWESOME.

Last Monday Tim, Thrustie, and some other bands played a show at Blaine's house. This is one of the other bands. They played a super long set, and had like 10 different instruments they switched between. It was kind of cool. Most of the photos on the roll didn't turn out that well since it was dark and I was pretty drunk. But sometimes shooting into the dark works out.

So I bought a tripod at an antique store last week for eight bucks. A few nights ago I hung out in the backyard at night and messed around with some longer exposures a little bit. Also I went to the grand opening of a star wars store today, so there should be some stormtrooper pics on here pretty soon as well.

It's a gray sunday today. Thick clouds, cool thick air, and the possibility of thunderstorms later. Luckily I've got a roof over my head, and a few cups of coffee in my belly. Tim buried it after we took these pictures. It's all good since our little buddy Mohommad's chicks have hatched and we have new life in the backyard.

Every so often since I bought my camera back in August, I try to find out more about it, and find accessories and stuff to make it more fun to play with. I got recommended this shop called Hollywood Camera as one that might have lenses that would fit my body. I went in on Friday to be amazed by all of the rad old camera stuff they had there. After talking with the old man working for a little bit I ended walking out with a 200mm Canon lens. So far the lens has been rad, I spent most of yesterday walking around taking photos and getting used to my new perspective of the world. These are some of the first few pictures taken with that new lens. Enjoy.

This little guy was lying on the side of Burnside for a couple of days before I got around to skating over and taking some pictures. I'm really surprised he was still in such good condition. Figure a cat or some bugs would've torn him up a little bit more. Can't keep it all about dead birds though so I threw in that little guy that was hanging out with me for a while down at burnside. He got even closer than he was in the photo, but when I tried to get another picture he flew away.

Last weekend was a wild one. I went out on Sunday and didn't get home until sometime on Tuesday. Most of that time was spent drinking with friends. For how much I was drinking I'm surprised I had any shots turn out. Especially that one night shot outside of Satyricon. Frankly I don't even remember taking it.

On a side note, I found out that I may be getting a scanner in June for my birthday which would mean I be able to scan my negatives here at home instead of getting a photo cd from the store, which always gives me shitty little lines on my photos. I don't think you can really see the lines on a regluar screen, but I've got an HD screen so I see every little error and it bugs me. Hopefully that'll work out and I can post stuff more often.

Spring has sprung

Finally spring is upon us. The last two days I've managed to spend most of mine time in shorts, and shirts of the sleeveless variety. That, plus copious amounts of skateboarding has made me one happy fellow. Although I do miss Boston a little bit, Portland has been doing a pretty good job lately reminding me why I've been here the past almost six years. I'm hoping to finish a roll in my camera today so I have some new content to put up. Until I get those developed here are some shots from a month or two ago. I saw this church being demolished one day on the way to the skatepark. On the way there the steeple was still standing and part of the main building was wrecked, it looked really cool. But that day skating was the priority, so we pulled over on the way home and I got these. Unfortuately the steeple had been torn down while I was skating, and I didn't get a chance to take a picture of it. I'm still pretty happy with these. Enjoy.

Last week I had the privilage to visit Boston, and see an old friend that I hadn't seen since 2002. Boston proved to be a really cool town. I really liked all of the old brick buildings, and all the little bits of history lying around. Like seeing where the Boston Tea Party happened, or Paul Revere's house. I kind of wish I would've taken more pictures while I was there, but oh well. I was too busy having a really, really fun time. I also think I'm starting to get the hang of shooting movement better, so maybe some more skating pictures or stuff like that will start showing up here. But who knows, maybe I'll keep sticking with stuff that doesn't move. For now, here are these. Enjoy.

Finally, I can bring a little color back to the blog with the roll I just got developed yesterday. If you remember from a few posts ago I was psyched on how I got pictures posted the same day I took them. Well I did that by walking to drop off film and finishing up the roll on the way. Also, how cool is it that the tree grew around the telephone wire, and now there is just a log hanging on the wire?

So the weather has finally begun to feel like what Portland normally feels like in the winter. It's not super cold out, but it's not warm, and the forecast shows nothing but rain. At least if I can't skate there should be a bunch of puddles I can take pictures of. That duck up there, was one of six or seven stuffed animals that Cody and I won out of a crane machine, at the nickle arcade on Halsey one day. The one of the side view mirror was a total accident. I was fucking around with the camera while I was sitting at a red light, it accidentally snapped a photo, and much to my surprise the shot turned out ok. The other pictures are just from the backyard because I'm lazy like that. I should have some new color shots to put up here in the next couple of days.

More time to kill time, so time for another post. These are from that same roll of black and white as the last post. These two were taken when I walked to get a burrito one day. I don't know why, but I really like the fact that, that sign is crooked. Makes me feel good inside whenever is see it. The reflection shot turned out cooler than I thought it would. I've done some reflection stuff before with a digital camera, but this is the first time I've gotten that look with film. Turned out not to be that hard, so you'll probably see more pictures like that at some point if you follow this blog. Do people follow this? That would be weird. I need to go eat some food.

Today was full of good stuff. I tried a new hot dog place called Wayne's that turned out to have amazing vegan sausages. I got a roll of black and white film developed today and got back some cool pictures. When I had the roll in the camera I thought it was a color roll. I also played a show with Cower, and Comadre. My neighborhood is cool. It's got a solid vibe and so far almost everybody has been real nice, except for two run ins with the crazy lady across the street, and what I'm assuming is her husband. These are a few shots from November I think. Maybe October. I don't know, it doesn't really matter I guess. These are from just up the street on the corner. I think it's lame that the tree's branches were cut for the power lines, but it still looks pretty cool. You can't see it from the pictures but that tree also has a pretty rad little fort in it.

I don't ride fixed gears very often. I've got bad knees and it makes them hurt. But I've got one because I like bikes. They're fun. Plus it helps to have a back up whip in case something breaks. I know a guy named Brent. He takes really good photos, and has been recently working on a book about fixies. Anyways, one day when my main whip was broken, and I had to get to work, I took out my fixie. I was waiting at the transit center, and the sun was starting to set, providing some rad light, and making my bike not look like the total piece of shit it is.

A little earlier this month Cody got laid off. With the weather still being pretty nice it gave us the opportunity to get out and do stuff during the day. On one particular day we went up to Powell butte and walked around for a while. I shot a roll of color and a roll of black and white. I don't know what happened to that color roll. I'm guessing it got stolen by the ghost at our house. So far the ghost has stolen my jacket, this film, a leathermen, and a couple little green baggies. Hopefully we'll get our stuff back sometime. Who knows. That Casper always seemed like a little fucker to me, and I don't have a Whoopie Goldberg around to talk to the Swayze ghost, so I suppose I'm out of luck. Anyways, these are pictures of stuff. And I'll probably put up more tomorrow when I'm bored.

It's been snowing like a motherfucker for the past couple of days. It's been a real pain in the ass. Yesterday wasn't too bad though, and Richie, Cody, Kristin and myself walked over to where we normally skate and tried to go sledding. It turns out that the spot works better for skating. These are from about a month ago. The snow yesterday was high enough that you couldn't even see the ledge Cody is nosesliding.

Tim's boss gave him a motorcycle. So far it doesn't work, and it's just been sitting in the backyard. It looks pretty sweet though, not as cool as an old junker truck would look, but Cody and Tim weren't really into that idea. Hopefully it'll get fixed and we can jump it or something.

I was in the middle of cleaning my room and found this on the floor, and remembered I wanted to scan it. I have a lot of pictures of the cats in my neighborhood because they like to hang out in our yard. This one got named "Bandit". Back to cleaning now.

The other day I was riding my bike to work and at some point around 50th my pedal broke. I rode the rest of the way to work, and ended up just taking a cab home and leaving my bike down by the club overnight. The next morning when I went to go pick it up I wanted to finish up the roll that was in my camera so I could get it developed. When I got down to my bike, the light was looking pretty cool. So I walked around and finished off the roll. These are those.

Back from the coast. I was in the negative the whole time I was at the casino, from the first dollar I put in. The next morning the three of us took the rest of the drive to the coast where we stopped by the skatepark for a short session, and then headed to the beach. The weather wasn't the best but it was fun anyways. There were some wicked scan lines on some of the pictures, but that shouldn't be a problem anymore since I got my roommates scanner working and now I should be able to scan my prints at home.

I remembered that I made this blog a while back and now I've been doing things that I think would be able to use as content on a more regular basis. Since I originally made the blog back in spring I've gotten a new computer, a PC to replace my old powerbook that took a shit, as well as a "new" camera. The camera is an old Canon Pellix that I picked up from the Value Village on 82nd by my old house. At the moment that camera is the motivation to get this blog going. I want a space to show some of my photos and I thought this would be a good medium. At least for now. So for now I'll try to keep this updated with photos until I find something else to put here, or I get bored of this all together. So to start this off, here are some pictures from a protest against the selling of fur downtown yesterday. Enjoy.
